Papua New Guinea
In 1997 Mike and Janice Berbin went to Papua New Guinea to begin a ministry for GFA in the Central Highlands. Besides their church-planting ministry, they have a Christian elementary school and a medical clinic. Jennifer Pearson joined them in 2002 with her primary ministry being in the clinic. Belinda Richter ministers to ladies and children and also teaches adult literacy classes. Matt and Rebekah Crain administrate and teach in the national school and assist the Berbins. The Smiths arrived in Kiari, PNG in July of 2006 to continue a church-planting ministry in an even more remote area several hours from the Berbins. Randy is conducting a Bible Institute and they have plans for an elementary school and medical clinic. Because of serious injuries received in an automobile accident, the Ritschards relocated from Kiari to Goroka. They are teaching national pastors, assisting churches and helping GFA missionaries in the bush who come to town for supplies. Opportunities: Our missionaries are working in the Highlands area of Papua New Guinea "where there is no road." Opportunities are abundant, including children's clubs, Bible studies, Bible classes in the public schools as well as with the national men, literature distribution, the medical/evangelistic ministry, aviation, and the Christian school ministry. There are many villages that are opening to the Gospel, and more laborers are needed to minister in those places. Geographic and demographic information Missionaries
