GFA in Canada has been greatly influenced by mission teams; most of our missionaries visited and were burdened to return full-time. Their primary ministry is church planting. Work with Indians is being done in Saskatchewan.

Canada is a vast country with vast needs, as varied as the many ethnic groups that make up the population. There is a tremendous dearth of pure Bible preaching and teaching, and there just aren't enough workers. There are many subtle differences from the U.S. that one needs to be aware of if one is to have an effective, long-term ministry.

• Alberta: There is a need for a Fundamental Bible institute, a Christian school, a camp program, and more churches both in Calgary and throughout the province.
• British Columbia: There is great opportunity for ministry in the metropolitan Vancouver area, both among Canadians and the high number of immigrants from many Asian countries. This area plus northwest U.S. is the most "unchurched" area in North America. There are two large universities where a good outreach is needed.
• Newfoundland: Fundamental works are lacking, and workers are needed to faithfully minister with small groups.
• Nova Scotia: Workers are needed in the fields of church planting, youth and children's work, camp work, Christian education, and radio broadcasting. The Sydney/Glace Bay/Dominion area in the northern part of Cape Breton Island is a largely populated area where a work could be started. Part of the challenge of Nova Scotia is the many scattered villages throughout the province.
• Saskatchewan: Native Americans on the 72 reserves scattered throughout the province present many open doors of outreach. Also there is a great need in larger towns, especially among the many ethnic groups that have congregated there.
