Cameroon

bachman_sign_background_small2GFA History

After ministering in a seminary and medical clinic near Yaoundé, the Walter Loeschers relocated to Foumban in the northwestern part of Cameroon. Walter has begun a new church-planting ministry; Carol (a medical doctor), along with Ellen Doyle and Carrie Wright (both nurses), carries out medical work in a village clinic and in a prison. In 2007 the Fundamental Bible Institute of Cameroon was begun for the purpose of training men for ministry in the French language. The missionaries also teach some classes in an English Bible institute in Sabga. The Eric Mossmans, the Danny Wrights, the Mark Barillas, and Ellen Doyle are now working alongside the Loeschers.

The Randy Studdards and Zane Bachmans are in the northern desert area seeking to reach the Shua Arabs, who are Muslim. In September 2005 the Jim Wrights began working in the same region, but they are targeting the Kotoko tribe, which is also Muslim.

Rosemary Craven is working with women and children in the Northwest, assisting the Tom Needham family (a missionary family not under GFA).

Opportunities:

Cameroon is wide open to the Gospel now. Workers are needed in Cameroon for evangelism, church planting, medical work, Bible institute training, and working with youth and children.
