Joaquin and Paqui Lopez have worked with GFA since 1995. Both of them were born in the country of Spain. Joaquin was born in a Christian home, and at the age of 15 he came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Paqui was born in a Roman Catholic household, and at 14 years old she came to know the Lord through the ministry of missionaries.

In 1981 they got married, and after their first daughter, Sara, was born, they came to the USA for Bible training. During that time the Lord gave them two more children, Daniel and Ana. In 1988 they returned to Spain, and their last daughter, Debora, was born.

In 1997, backed by a team of prayer and financial supporters in the USA, they started a church in Mataró, a city of 120,000 people. After ten years of ministry, they left the church with a well-qualified national pastor in May of 2007. The church has grown and is now self-supporting. Their goal for the next 10 years is to reproduce in the city of Tarragona the same type of ministry.
