Ministry:  Church planting
Home Church:  Hampton Park Baptist Church, Greenville, SC
On Field Since:  1985

Tim and Marge Garren serve along Nova Scotia's South Shore in the towns of Lockeport and Liverpool. Tim grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and was introduced to the need in Nova Scotia through ministering on high school and college summer mission teams. He graduated from the Bob Jones University's School of Applied Studies in 1985 and came to Nova Scotia full-time in 1987.

Marge grew up in Washington Court House, Ohio, and graduated from BJU in 1987. She and Tim met in 1990 at one of Tim's supporting churches, and after a long-distance courtship, they were married in 1995. The Garrens have three daughters: Abigail, Esther, and Grace.

lockeport-ilandw Over the years in Nova Scotia, Tim has served as an assistant pastor, youth pastor, camp director, boys' home counselor, and senior pastor. He helped to establish two churches and is now the pastor of Lockeport Independent Baptist Church. The church, one of the oldest in the province, was struggling without a pastor for 2½ years until the Garrens arrived in 1997.

In the larger town of Liverpool, about 40 miles from Lockeport, a group of believers were desiring a local Bible study. In 2006, Tim began Liverpool Area Bible study, and attendance averages from eight to ten faithful people. The goal is to one day see a sound, fundamental church planted in that thriving community.
